When running in local mode, you can create characters for use in sessions using a matching ruleset. You can also select a campaign to
view characters played in that campaign.
In the Fantasy Grounds launcher, select "Create and View Local Characters".
Select an entry identifying the ruleset you want to create characters for in the list.
Click "Start". Alternatively, you can double click the list entry.
Selecting a campaign
When running in local mode, you can create characters for use in sessions using a matching ruleset. You can also select a campaign to
view characters played in that campaign.

Click "Start". Alternatively, you can double click the list entry.
You can now view characters played in the campaign, in addition to creating new characters
for the ruleset used.
Creating a new character
Click on the "Characters" button on the tabletop.
Double click the "Create new character" entry.
A new character is created and the character sheet opens for editing.
Editing an existing character
Click on the "Characters" button on the tabletop.
Double click an entry labeled "Local character".
The character sheet opens for editing.
Viewing a session character
Click on the "Characters" button on the tabletop.
Double click an entry labeled "Server character".
The character sheet opens for viewing. You cannot edit the information on the sheet.
Generating abilities using dice
Select the "Rolls" tab at the bottom of the roll area.
Determine the number of abilities to roll and the die count for each ability. You can also specify the number of lowest dice to drop and an optional
static modifier number.
Roll the dice, using a number of dice equal to the amount you specified above.
A dice cup is available at the bottom of the tabletop for dropping dice into, for easy access to a single ability roll.
Roll the dice on the result section, rolling once for each ability. The check mark indicates rolls that have been recorded.
To reroll a result, click on the check mark.
You can sort the scores in descending order using the button on the settings bar.
Drag the resulting scores onto the fields on the character sheet.
Rearranging rolled results
Roll ability scores as described in "Generating abilities using dice".
Drag from any die result field. The number will turn red to indicate it is being rearranged.
Drop onto any die result field.
The contents of the two fields will be swapped.
Generating abilities using point costs
Select the "Points" tab at the bottom of the roll area.
Determine the number of abilities to generate.
Go into point range mode by clicking on the "Determine point ranges" button.
Determine the point costs for various score ranges. Use the radial menu on the list to add and delete rows.
Disable the range mode by clicking the "Determine point ranges" button again.
Enter the scores using the mouse wheel or the keyboard.
The total cost of the selected abilities is displayed at the bottom of the score area.
Drag the resulting scores onto the fields on the character sheet.
